Last weekend I had the pleasure of going back out on the road with my friends from the band Sanctus Real. They have been out on the Hungry For Love Tour with Leeland and The Afters. We had a great time just hanging out and I got a chance to take a lot of pictures.
Back in August I got a little taste of life on the road when they asked me to fill in on guitar while Chris and Pete were taking some time off to have babies (well, their wives we’re actually having the babies…). That’s a blog post for another time, but suffice it to say, that was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Hearing that they were out on the road with two other bands that I love, I hitched a ride on the bus and lived vicariously through them for a few days.
We were out for 3 shows in Maine, New York and West Virginia. It was quite the road trip, but definitely worth every moment. Having the chance to watch three amazing bands three nights in a row right from the front of the stage was an amazing experience. On top of that, just getting to hang with the guys every day was an experience I won’t soon forget. For an entertaining look at that weekend, be sure to check out Dan’s blog post over at the Sanctus site by clicking here.
Those of you that know me know that music and photography are my two creative passions. That passion feeds my soul in a way that’s hard to describe. Having the opportunity to combine them both was an amazing experience to say the least. A special thanks to Chris, Matt, Dan, Mark and Pete for letting me tag along and for making me feel so welcome. I had a great time and hopefully we’ll get to do it again soon.
Here are a few of the images from the the Sanctus Real set on the last night I was out with them. I’ll be posting images from the other two nights soon along with some images from Leeland and The Afters as well. I hope you enjoy them. Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think.
