Last month I mentioned this photography challenge that I’ve been a part of with a few of my friends. This time around our theme was portraits. We’ve got some pretty phenomenal photographers in this group and everyone shot some really amazing images. I was honored to have the opening image in this post selected as the winner for this theme.
My friend Tim Crabtree (better known as Crab) was kind enough to sit in for a quick little portrait shoot. This was a really simple one light setup shot on white seamless. It doesn’t get much more strait forward than that and I was pretty happy with the results.
What was unique (at least for me) was that I really pushed myself on the post processing for this one. Usually I’m pretty conservative with my settings in Lightroom. This time I wanted to go for something much more gritty with muted tones. To say that my setting were at the extremes would be an understatement. An interesting experiment for sure.
I’m really loving the healthy competition we’ve created with this group. Most importantly because it’s really pushing me to shoot better images. I’d love to hear your thoughts on these images in the comments.
