We were driving home last night from my wife’s family reunion and there was an amazing sky off to our West. Those that have been hanging around the blog know that I love clouds. Something captivating about a gorgeous sky. I’m watching this develop wondering if I’d make it home in time to get a few images. We got home only 20 minutes or so before the sunset so I quickly hopped in the car and headed out.
To my eye, a good landscape shot has 3 key elements of interest – a foreground, mid ground and background. Realizing I only had a few minutes to capture this beautiful sky I was scrambling to find something of interest to shoot. I knew I could do better, but things were changing so fast that I just went with what I had. You can see just how dramatically things changed in these 4 images. All told, these images span a time frame of only about 20 minutes.
Beautiful sky!!!
It sure was. Gotta love nights like those. Sometimes you get lucky :)
