A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of joining my friends from Sanctus Real out on the road. I was filling in for Pete on guitar at the Iowa State Fair. Anytime I get to play with these guys it’s an awesome experience and this show was certainly no exception. We were opening up for Casting Crowns that night which was a thrill in itself.
On Sunday the band from my home church, CedarCreek.tv, put on an awesome concert at the annual Rib Off. Those of you that know me know that I’m a musician and play out at CedarCreek.tv regularly. Normally I would have been playing at an event like this. However, this time we had some of our other very talented musicians perform. I have to tell you, it made me proud to be out there watching all these guys tear it up.
Well, if you’ve been following the blog, you may recall that I had the opportunity to go out on the road last fall with Sanctus Real, Leeland and The Afters on the Hungry For Love Tour. You can see some of my shots of Sanctus Real from the tour by clicking here. I’ve been meaning to get some shots of The Afters and Leeland posted, but let’s just say that I’m not always the fastest guy when it comes to editing and posting my images.
Last night capped off the most musically satisfying year of my life.
Let me explain. If you’ve been following the blog at all you know that my two great passions in life are music and photography (family, faith, etc… notwithstanding). As a musician, I’ve had a number of cool opportunities throughout my life, but this year takes the cake. From festivals, to arenas to stadiums, I got to play the kind of shows that I only dreamed of.
